STABILITY WITH HYPERMOBILITY

For next fall, I will be changing the structure of the Stability with Hypermobility class to be ongoing and all levels instead of cohort groups.  That means that anyone who is living with hypermobility can join in the class at any point whether they are in ongoing PT treatment or not.  Each class will begin with time for questions!  This will be focused on teaching Kim’s highly successful corrective exercise progression especially tailored for those living with hypermobility to restore active posture control, help reduce pain, repeated injuries and increase comfort with daily life and physical activity for people who are living with Hypermobility. The hope is also to create some community for others living with Similar difficulties. Email sea2summitPT@gmail.com or text 360-927-5375 to enroll.

Dates/Times: Mondays and Wednesdays 530-630 pm starting Monday September 8

Class fees: First class drop in $10, $25 per individual class or $60 for 3 classes paid ahead of time ($20 per class).

POSTURE AND BODY MECHANICS

Turn your day into a corrective exercise by bringing yourself back to the best posture and alignment throughout the day and with your job duties, usual exercise for fitness for healthier movement. Class fee $30 Email sea2summitPT@gmail.com to reserve your spot.

BALANCED BREATH

Balance the Breath for a more balanced nervous system and musculoskeletal system. The relationship of the breath and healthy nervous and movement systems goes back thousands of years to the yogis of India.  In more recent history, Joseph Pilates recognized the importance of breathing to support heathy movement. Current research ties in Pilates’s Wisdom with Gray Cook’s teams’s research on the link between breathing patterns and kinesiology (the science behind movement) with Jon Kabat Zinn’s use of breathing techniques to train the nervous systems responses around pain and the NOI group’s ground breaking research and Alan Gordon’s work on the links between trauma, anxiety and pain as well.  This class is a practical application of all of these systems to build a more balanced nervous and movement system by harnessing the power of the breath.  Balance your sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system. Create an independent breath that works with, not against, your movement system. Restore and uncover the flow and synergy within that is naturally there within your movement and nervous system.  Class fee $30. Email sea2summitPT@gmail.com to reserve your spot.

Enjoy the rest of your summer!

Best, Kim Burns DPT, OCS
